The Rally in the Ravalli Valley!

July 24, 25, & 26, 2009

Ravalli County was once home to the Bitterroot Salish Indian Tribe. The tribe was first encountered in 1805 by the Lewis and Clark Expedition, which noted the friendly nature of the tribe. The Roman Catholic Church took interest in creating a mission in the area, and in 1841, Stevensville was founded. In 1891, the Salish tribe was relocated to the current Flathead reservation under the Treaty of Hellgate.

In 1877, Chief Joseph and his tribe of Nez Perce passed through Ravalli county on their way to Canada in order to escape confinement to a reservation.

Ravalli County was created by the Montana Legislature on March 3, 1893. It is named after the Italian Jesuit priest Father Antony Ravalli, who came to the Bitterroot valley in 1845.

Rally Information

The rally will be held at the Ravalli County Fairgrounds.  Opening ceremonies will be Friday morning.  There will be a light parade that evening at 8:30 P. M.  and will end downtown for a light show.  We have a band, the Boppa Dips who will be playing 50's-60's-70's music downtown also.. Admission is included with the Rally registration.   There will be a no host Masters and Couple of the Year breakfast at 7:00 A. M., at a location downtown, which is still to be determined..   Saturday at 5:30 P. M. we have a dinner planned at the Senior Citizen Center.   Cost is under $15 per person.  Exact price will be on the registration form.  Arrangements are still being made for the Closing ceremonies, perhaps also at the Senior Citizen Center.

Our Rally coincides with" Daly Days " so there will be a lot of people in town.  Saturday evening there will be several small Breweries on main street so people get to sample their  wares.  Daly Days offers music, food, fun, crafts and even Marcus Daly himself attends this event. It is a celebration of the town founder. Games for the children, vendors from around Montana, horse and mule parade and carriage rides.
